I couldn't have said it any better myself.

But take heart, the weather forecast for Colchester looks like this:

Fri. Hi 19 Lo 1
Sat. Hi 10 Lo -8
Sun. Hi 0 Lo -15
Mon. Hi 3 Lo 0

Then it's supposed to get a little warmer, but still no thaws in sight.

I'll be doing another winter rally this weekend in Bromont, QC, so I'm good until the lakes freeze enough.

Sorta like last year: it hung around 9-10" for what seemed like forever, then a cold snap and "bam" 13"

If you don't have a car, ... what will you use to play on Lake Iroquois/MB?

My new car has reliable heat, the PW always seem to go up when you push the button, etc. It smells like Waxoyl, but I wouldn't kick it out of bed for eating crackers.

We do miss your enthusiasm over there Josh.

X2 to Josh. Big fun on little $$$.
Just to throw it out there, if it turns out that there is significant ice in the northeast kingdom, is anybody enthusiastic enough to make the journey? Yup, on a snowy day it could take three hours to get to Lake Willoughby from btown, but if this cold snap doesn't do it, I'm gonna...well...snap.

Willoughby is all spring fed, I would be very worried about the ice quality with constant infusion of 50 degree water, but I never ventured down there in the winter. I know lots of people are driving on Memphremagog though. Not sure how much of a PITA the police would be though. They've been known to be a bit "controlling", but some of the officers really are cool while other are not.

On the way home there were about 8 trucks out on the ice in the bay. They were not to far out.
