Preliminary autocross schedule, will discuss at meeting 3/15

Post by sachilles »

preliminary schedule, looking for feed back.

our options for:
April
2 day event
4/23-24 or
4/30-5/1
------------
May
14
------------
June
4 or 18
------------
July
16 or 23 or 30
------------
August
13 or 20 or 27
-------------
Sept
10 or 24
-------------
October
1 or nothing

No conflicts with a scheduled hillclimb,
Non of these are on the long weekends which we tend to schedule SLMP's on.

Red are the dates I suggest for various reasons. Black is the second option. If you know of major conflicts with events our members usually attend, now would be a great time to discuss it.

I don't see any SCDA or COMSCC conflicts (those clubs typically run during the week anyways). Dates in red look good to me :drive1: .

A two day event in April? What are the plans for that weekend?

July
23 or 30
The Connecticut LeMons race is the 23/24th of July, so the 30th would be better in that respect.

At the meeting we agreed on these dates, with the exception of October. We agreed on October 1st, but it turns out there is a conflict with the track. So the 8th is the option now. The October event is tentative, and will be held if club interest in the event is substantial.

4/30(school) and 5/1
6/4
7/30
8/20
9/10
10/8 maybe.

We will probably do it as a introduction for people new to Autocross. There will be experienced Autocrossers there to drive the course with you and give you pointers. You will be able to ride with them in your car or theirs and get pointers and tips to make you faster. It will include how to walk the course and drive it to get the fastest times possible. In the past we have discounted the entry to the next days Autocross to those who participate in the school.

The SCCV has numerous great drivers who will be available. I'm sure there will be a sign up sheet posted (for instructors) at some point. It is alot of fun and will give you some valuable insight that would normally take a lot of runs and events to learn otherwise..
