The Official Devil's Bowl 9/7/13 Autox thread!

Post by BugEyeRex »

t's autocross time!

Sept 7th 8am at Devils Bowl Speedway 2743 Route 22A West Haven.

Do not miss this one...Registration is now open.
https://www.motorsportreg.com/index.cfm ... h1J-BsqiSo

We need your help to make these autocrosses happen. We need some new faces to help run the events. Some of the regulars may be missing this year. So if we want the events, WE have to make them happen.

For the fourth autocross we need the following:
Chair- Paul D
Co-
Registrar-
asst Registrar-

Tech inspector 1-
Tech inspector 2-

Worker coordinator 1- Ed
Worker coordinator 2

If you can do one of these tasks, please let me know in the thread below or contact me however you feel comfortable.

You may register at this event on site, without having to pay extra.

Price is $40 member $50 nonmember.

Spread the word. Get your car ready. New comers start asking your questions....you know you are curious about something.

Make sure your battery is secured. You need a M or SA 2000 rated helmet or newer. IT MUST HAVE the foil snell sticker. Looks like this http://www.smf.org/images/decals/sa05dec.jpg

Usually the sticker can be found inside the helmet under the padding somewhere. If it isn't bolted down inside your car, take it out. Make sure you have no loose suspension bits(grab each of your four wheels) and shake it in every direction possible, there should be no play. It's easier to check with the wheel jacked in the air.

Hope to see you there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm happy to chair the event.
Hoping to bring the Lemons Miata down for a shakedown before the Chumpcar race at Calabogie!
That means we may have as many as four drivers in that car: Me, Nick, and the Collins brothers, but they don't know it yet.

Thanks everyone for coming out, helping out big, and making for a fun autocross at Devil's Bowl.
Fun course, 10 runs, no incidents (once we got up and running).
I took some videos from the side of Eric Roscoe's VW buggy-ice-racer-thing, which came out great. I'll get it up here.
Congratulations to Tim on his first FTD, with Bill King just the blink of an eye behind.
I hope everyone had the chance to meet Dave (maserati bi-turbo), Mark (light blue Interga), and Eric (WV buggy-ice-racer-thing) from the Adirondack Motor Enthusiast Club. These guys are regulars in the best bang-for-your-buck racing series not hosted in your neighbor's field (please introduce me to your neighbor), wheel to wheel ice racing. Check out icerace.com to find out more about how your rusty Corolla can compete and even beat a shiny turbo Miata in REAL RACING.
