SCCV Auto-x #1 May 31st, Airbourne Speedway

Post by ricker96 »

AUTO-X #1, sunday MAY 31st Airbourne Speedway

Registration will be onsite for this event. Bring cash/check to the event.

We need your help to make these autocrosses happen. We need some new faces to help run the events. Some of the regulars may be missing this year. So if we want the events, WE have to make them happen.

For Auto-x #1 we need the following:
Chair- Ricky G
Co- Paul D
Registrar-
asst Registrar-

Tech inspector 1-
Tech inspector 2-

Worker coordinator 1-
Worker coordinator 2

If you can do one of these tasks, please post in this thread.

Price is $40 member $50 nonmember.

Spread the word. Get your car ready. New comers start asking your questions....you know you are curious about something.

Make sure your battery is secured. You need a M or SA 2000 rated helmet or newer. IT MUST HAVE the foil snell sticker. Looks like this:

Usually the sticker can be found inside the helmet under the padding somewhere.

If it isn't bolted down inside your car, take it out. Make sure you have no loose suspension bits(grab each of your four wheels) and shake it in every direction possible, there should be no play. It's easier to check with the wheel jacked in the air.

Auto-x #1 will start a little earlier than other autocrosses sccv will be holding later in the year.
We need to be picked up and off the track by 3:30 pm, no later! because they have a go-kart practice scheduled for 4pm after our event.
So to keep everyone happy, and achieve max amount of runs, we have been allowed to enter the track at 6 am to start setup.
So everyone who wants to come out for our first auto-x of the season and have fun on a new layout, be here with your car ready for tech, helmet in hand, and ready to register at 7:30am.

Sccv usually starts registration around 8am or 8:30am, I'd like to try and get everyone registered, tech inspected, and drivers meeting before 9am, first car rolling off at 9:30 maybe sooner?

I know it means an early start to your day if your travelling from a few hours away, but I guarantee know one will go home disappointed!

Paul did you find out about the camping ?????

Also if any one else is going Saturday night it cost $12 per adult unless over 60 which is $10 and under 12 is free

We can definitely use your help butch!
I'm still waiting on a call back about a discount on camping for Saturdays before our events, but Justin from airbourne said they have always charged for camp sites, so it may just be what it is!
I should know the exacts friday.

Well, I decided not to run their enduro Saturday night, based on the iffy weather; those NASCAR boys don't drive in the rain.
I do plan to go there and camp the night before, since it's the only way I will get there in time to help set up early on Sunday.
Sounds like the latest about camping costs will be posted here, so Butch and everyone else can check back here.
