2017 Autocross Series Event #1 @ Diamond Run Mall in Rutland

EVENT DETAILS:

What is Autocross? A closed course timed event to learn car control and advanced driving techniques while competing against others in specific car classes for quickest timed run of the day.

Location: Diamond Run Mall in Rutland, VT off route 7. Southern 3 parking lots

Who can participate: Open to all drivers with valid driver's license and a vehicle that passes our clubs tech inspection and has a 68" maximum roofline

Event Fees: (Registration will be available day of the event and also online leading up to the event)
$40.00 for Members
$50.00 for non-members
SCCV memberships are $20 for the season and will be available on site.
Pre-registration will be available shortly for this event on Motorsportreg.com and the link will be here:

8:00am-9:00am Registration/Tech Inspection
9:00am-9:30am worker assignments/run groups sorted out
9:30am-10:00am Driver's meeting/course walk
10:00am-10:30am final morning prep and worker organization
10:30am-12:00pm morning timed runs
~12:00pm-1:00pm lunch break
~1:00pm-4:00pm afternoon timed runs
4:00pm-4:30pm course cleanup by ALL participants
4:30pm-5:00pm post event driver's meeting

If you can do one of these tasks, please post in this thread. Getting people to help with these tasks makes the entire day run more smooth, experience doing these tasks is good but we are happy to teach anyone willing to try. Work stations will have multiple drivers at each station, some new and some experienced in shagging cones, and working the radio calling in car #'s when cones are hit and red flag situations, BE ALERT, cars are moving very fast and alot can go wrong very quickly.

Spread the word. Get your car ready. New comers start asking your questions....you know you are curious about something.

Tech Inspection:
The failure to pass any of these checks may disqualify you from participating in our event.
Passing Tech Inspection is ultimately at the discretion of the inspector and/or event chairman.

Prepare your car. These items WILL be checked during Tech Inspection.

NO Fluid leaks including lines
Brake fluid at appropriate level and quality; braking components undamaged
Radiator overflow is uncompromised
Battery must be securely tied down (no bungee cords / bailing twine)
Positive battery terminal is covered
Seats are securely mounted/uncompromised
Seat belts anchored properly and in good condition
No excessive play in suspension (inc. tie rods, ball joints, wheel bearings)
No missing wheel studs or loose lugs
No tire defects, cording, or cuts. Appropriate tire pressure
Car emptied of all loose items
All vehicle panels are secured
For SLMP/track: Open-top cars require rollover protection, and rollover protection must extend past driver’s helmet

Prepare yourself. The following items are needed for YOU to be prepared:
Have a Snell helmet (M/SA) that is the current certification, or the prior two certifications
Valid Drivers License
Bring appropriate footwear: closed-toe, attached at ankle
Payment for event
Arrive to events ON TIME!

Passengers:
Individuals must sign a liability waiver as “passenger” to ride along with a driver. Passengers must have a valid driver's license. Minors will require parental signature of minor liability waiver to ride along with a driver.

Car Classing Information:

You must properly class your car and compete in the same class to receive proper championship points. Anyone competing for a class championship must be an SCCV member and participate in at least half of the events to qualify. Each class winner will receive a very cool trophy at the year end banquet. 2nd and 3rd place championship finishers in each class will also receive trophies.

motorsportreg.com should be updated to reflect the revised SCCV car classing if that's possible. Looks like A street is class 4 now.

Unless you're doing the Tire Rack Saturday event, wrong day! Our first event is Sunday the 30th.
