I've found a Subaru with wide snow tires power sliding clears snow pretty readily. Local parking lots serve as evidence.

I may be able to shoot up tomorrow but it's unlikely.

Me and the plow guy arrive at 7:00 am to begin setup. If there's a problem and we can't have practice tomorrow, I will notify a member as early as possible. They will then post the findings here. Therefore if you don't hear otherwise, we're a go for both days. If you've got room, bring a shovel.

Left Mallets bay a little while ago. The plow guy was not comfortable being on the ice (falling through when you are 15 can do that) so he left the plow in Pauls hands and he said he will be back Sunday sometime to get the truck. Sweet. Paul is a plowing monster. He has 2 courses done now, and is planning on doing a couple more. :3gears:

Yes! The course is sweet. I need new snow tires, 7yr old snows are alright until you hit polished ice. Ask Paul about all the snow I covered him with. :D One word of caution. Drive slow out to the event. One the ice fisherman like it when we are polite and there are some big uneven bumps on the way out.

How deep is the snow on the ice? Also, is it soft and fluffy or hard and crusty?

First time I went ice racing, there was about eight inches of snow on the ice and it rained the night before causing it to freeze really hard. Saw lots of car damage incurred during that day, which is why I am asking.

the depth of snow varies quite a bit. 0-12 inches some drifts with more. The snow is pretty light. no crusty parts that I could see. its all just snow from this last storm.

I can plow if it happens again. I live up on Marble Island and have a 05 Chevy 2500 with an 8 foot V plow. I'll do it for the cost of gas! 802-310-6968 Ben
