ITT #1 MARCH 12, 2017

Post by pdudley42 »

-Location: Lake Elmore
-Entry Fee: $30 for SCCV members, $40 for nonmembers. SCCV memberships will be available on site for $20 for the year
-Ice thickness: 15+"
-Boat launch for access: southern ramp off route 12

Schedule: (this is a rough guideline and is subject to change based on flow of the day)
-Registration will be on site at 9-10am
-Tech inspection will be from 9:00am-10:15am
-Drivers meeting will be 10:30am
-Course walk/fam run will be promptly after drivers meeting
-First car on course hopefully by 11am
-lunch break
-Afternoon runs until 4:00pm
-Course/paddock cleanup by ALL participants promptly after. We especially need to take care of our venue. It's a great lake and the locals have been very welcoming of our presence there. Thank you in advance.

Event requirements: Remember frozen lakes are state highways in VT.

-Car must be road legal (current inspection/registration/insurance) this will be part of tech inspection so please have current print outs.
-Exhaust must be legit. Catalytic converter/muffler. No pure straight pipes.
-No fluid leaks.
-Every participant will be expected to have spill pillows/pig mats. These are paper towels on steroids, found at most auto parts store. These will also be available for purchase at the event for a low cost and will be required for tech inspection.
-All cars running street tires must have a snow tire. No all seasons will be allowed. It's ice. Super studded cars will be allowed to run all seasons due to added grip of bolts.
-No loose items in the car. Battery must be securely and safely fastened.
-Helmet requirements are a SNELL 2005 or newer certified. This can be found on the back of the helmet or on the sticker inside.
-Tow points must be accessible front AND rear. This will be part of tech inspection so please have it sorted out ahead of time.
-No drugs or alcohol at the event.
-Drive respectfully when not on course. We represent the club as a whole, and if we want to continue having these great events then we must keep cars quiet and slow on the rest of the lake/paddock/streets. Thank you very much for your cooperation on this.

Suggestions:
-YAKTRAX or equivalent for your feet when not in the car. It's slippery walking on ice, so come prepared
-Bring a shovel
-Dress warm

Car Classing:
-Non studded FWD
-Non studded RWD
-Non studded AWD
-Street studded FWD
-Street studded RWD
-Street studded AWD
-Super studded 2WD
-Super studded AWD

Super Studded tire restrictions:
-maximum of 30 bolts per foot of tire circumference
-can only use 1/4" diameter bolts or smaller
-must be installed from inside out and have lock nut
-cannot protrude from new tire tread height more than 1/2". Most tires start around 11/32" of tread.
-must use white type of tire sealant (no green/red)
