NEHA: 2015 season rules

Post by Rabbit Farmer » Thu Mar 19, 2015 9:12 am

There were a number of changes to the rules for the 2015 season for New England Hillclimb Association (NEHA) events; SCCV is one of the three clubs that fall under NEHA with SCCNH and KSCC being the other two.

Last night I received the rules for review and have sent them to Chris R. (BugEyeRex) for his review also to ensure that the final rules captured the changes correctly.

At the 17-Mar-2015 meeting, I mentioned that we had not received the rules yet, therefore, we did not vote to accept them.

More to come. I just wanted to provide everyone with an update as the first hillclimb (Ascutney) is not that far off.

NEHA 2015 Rule Changes

Disclaimer: This is just intended to be a quick summary of the changes. See the rules for the actual changes.

General Regulation Changes
No changes in general regulations

Classification Changes

In Unprepared and Street Prepared rotary displacement is now multiplied by 1.62 instead of 2.

Unprepared cars may now replace OEM flexible brake lines with aftermarket or braided stainless lines.

Classes UEV and PEV for electric vehicles added.

Technical and Safety Changes

Many changes to the roll cage rules. Most of the changes related to better specifying materials. Some changes to
construction.

Vehicles no longer have the have cockpit entirely contained within the wheelbase.

Compressed air horns are now required on vehicles with a kill switch. The idea being this type of horn will continue
to work after the kill switch has been used to kill all electrical power.

Section 6 added with technical and safety requirement for Prepared electric vehicles.

The old section Ea. Recommendations for collision protection was made into an appendix with some modifications
