Karting anyone?

Post by jcollins914 »

Hey all,

One thing I miss about the SCCV is when we used to get a bunch of like minded enthusiasts together and convoy up to Montreal for a morning/afternoon of go-karting, followed by a meal at the nearby buffet. The other day it occurred to me that it has been way too long since we did anything like this. The obvious next thing that occurred to me is the unknown nature of the granularity of the filter the need for a passport or enhanced VT driver's license to get into Canada would apply to attendance of such an event. I am legal to cross, but my question is, are you?

The karts there are pretty fast, pretty even, and a pile of fun. It has been a while since I've been, but I'm pretty confident everyone that joined would find it worth their Saturday.

So, would you be interested in/eligible to attend if we can all agree on a date/time to make such a pilgrimage? If so, I'll do the organization & all that, but if not, well, I won't.

Looking forward to muchos Yes's.

Jeff

Edit: January 15 is the date:

I'd like to, but will have to be a last minute decision as weekends are always tough for me in the winter. I do have a passport.

All of January and most of Feb. is Flexible for me. I think there is one weekend in Feb. that I can't go. The rest I can make time to go.

Awesome!

Keep the replies coming, let's plan on "sometime in January or February"... Great group shaping up so far, and of course, as always, the more the merrier!

I'd be psyched to go if it was a Saturday and I'm not predetermined to be busy tuning someone's car. Sundays are out for me due to family commitments at the mountain. Assuming we get some snow sometime. :)

I was actually thinking of taking my two older kiddos up on Jan 13, 19, or 20th for some karting, then car show or car show, then karting. I'm sure that will get me pumped for some adult time in the karts!

Yes, yes, and yes. It's time to see how much closer my 14 year-old Conor has gotten to dad now that we're like 5 years older since the last time we went. Max, my 15 y.o. German exchange student son needs to show us his Vettel-like skills as well.

When? Sundays are actually better for us as we ski pretty much every Saturday... if it's ever going to snow this winter.

I am new to VT and would love to attend and get to know the SCCV.

What is the name (or link) of the karting location? My boys may want to attend too if they are old enough.
