Does anyone know of someone in VT who still does wheel repair?

After much searching it appears that both the Wheel Wizard and D. Ross are out of business.

Any help is appreciated.

Mike

Not sure the extent of the repair you need. I have some wheels with some slight curb rash that are otherwise straight. They are being repaired and powder coated at Race Metalsmiths in Wilder, VT. www.racemetalsmiths.com Ask for Scott

When I was at City Tire in Williston, I grabbed (and cannot locate) a business card for wheel repair. I do not recall the details, but you can either call City Tire (951-9999) or stop in an pick up a card from their counter.

Had him straighten a wheel for me and he did a nice job. He can fix curb rash, scratched, and paint. Nice thing is he has it all in a trailer so he can come to you.

Well... now we have a mystery. Is D. Ross still in business or did Nick have his fixed... in the Twilight Zone. (theme music)

I got this info from Mr. Bridgestone: "The guy who did mine (the Florida snowbird) is called Wheel Master, his name is Ken and his number is
(215)307-1506. I'm not sure if/when he is coming back. I would try him first as he is a local guy and super fast / nice to deal with. He is worth waiting for if he is coming back, there was some uncertainty about if he would come back this spring."

Turns out he is coming back around the 3rd week of April. I started to panic when the thermometer hit 80 degrees a few weeks ago, and sought out other options to get the summer tires/wheels on my Outback more quickly. Race Metalsmiths are resurfacing and powder coating the entire wheel for $10 more than Wheel Master to resurface and paint just the face of the wheel (with the tire on).

Based on what I could see on their website, it seemed like it was worth giving them a try.

I'll post how they turned out as soon as I get them back...

I'd also like to say thanks for the links and info guys.
The front passenger wheel on my 911 has an annoyingly slow leak.
The tires are brand new and so are the valvestems, so I figure there is a small crack or the lip is warped.

Thanks for the tips everyone. Does the the Wheel Master (Ken from Florida) fix bends or does he only do refinishing?

I have some slight pothole bends (2 rims) on the inner edge, then I'll have a crack at refinishing them myself.

I know this is a little past when you posted but I started my own business last January, I repair alloy wheels and I am located in Barre Vt but cover the entire state. I can do the work on location or offer a pick up and return service. Please let me know if I can be of assistance to you.
