Ryan's Miata Project

Post by STI NICK »

well we made it back safely. The drive was long and uneventful with nice weather. The car was in better shape than we both were expecting. I know Ryan took a few pictures of it.

The fender and front bumper are purple, the rest is a crappy black respray, it was originally red. Shumacher drifted it into a guardrail which explains the junkyard rims, mismatched fender & bumper, the 2002 miata suspension in the trunk with one bent front strut, and the Jetta in garage next to it ...

Odometer says 248k, he says 161k on engine. One small spot of rust. It's a 91. No idea if it has an LSD or not. Wiring is a comlete mess. But it does have $350 tail lights (according to Shumy) and can even get sideways in 3rd gear. No brakes but a new master cylinder in the trunk. Bad battery. Soft-top is in good shape other than the fact that it's missing the rear window.

Sure Nathan I paid $450 for it. Seemed like a good deal to me, looks like at minimum it'll need tires & probably a battery ... to be street legal I'll need to figure out all the wiring, get all the turn signals to work, and get the AIRBAG light to stop blinking.
