Well, since the Abarth is a total loss, I've decided to buy it back and fuse the Abarth and Bumble-bee together. The ground work has been laid, and soon the journey begins. The end result will be a 1982 Fiat X-1/9 with all modern electronics and that sweet, sweet 160hp turbo engine from the Abarth. First step, strip the bumble-bee to the bare chassis and have it acid dipped.

"When life hands you lemons, make lemonade", right?

Hmmm - will that make it a hybrid?

Where are you going for an acid dip? How much are they charging you?

Hey folks, its been a long long long time, but the Abarth case is finally settled and the Abarth X project is on. I initially wanted to get the yellow X acid dipped, but I was STRONGLY advised not to from a friend that just had it done. So, I'll be getting it media blasted.

The X and the Abarth go to Columbus Oh. in Early August.

Hey Seth, the shop is a Fiat parts and renovation "reseller". Matt has made a huge name for himself (and crew) as the go to guy for restorations and resto-mods. He typically has been putting Acura K20 motors in X-1/9's. Since mine will be the first for the Abarth motor, he's chomping at the bit as it'll be breed correct.

here is his website, not much but I'll see if he can get a web documentary on the build.
