Cars and Coffee?

Post by gtivr4 »

I seem to recall that there was some start of a "Cars and Coffee" type of gathering in the area. What happened to it? Location didn't work out?

The idea had great promise and the location was ok, it just never got off the ground. Might be worth a relook as the original place has more room now with the closing of Linens and Things. There is a huge open area near there (next to Dick's Sporting Goods), that we could gather at and there is a Starbucks right there.

Anyone want to give this another try? With limited events this year, it might be a great idea. :D

The main problem was not location or store managers, but the property manager.

The property manager wanted us to have insurance, if it was to be an official 'event'. The club-at-large deemed it unrealistic to pay for insurance for a meet-n-greet type event.

A casual, non-official G2G, however, would be cool. We just couldn't bring signage, have a table, and the like.

So lets just agree to gather at a set time. No need to be official. Be a good way to get the community at large aware of what we do etc. Only have to try to keep burnouts/hoolaganism at bay (luckily its just down the street from the state police barracks).
