SAABARU Q&A

Post by pdudley42 »

Hi all. Bev is interested in an Impreza; even more so in the one with a Saab logo. How does a 9-2x differ from its respective year impreza? Same struts? same abs controller? same brake calipers? same ecu? etc??? Thanks, I'm just too lazy to search it myself and the internet allows me to answer her without even getting up.
Thanks, that was exhausting.
Happy spring SCCV!!!

I could be wrong, but my understanding is that the only differences are cosmetics on the inside (more better), and body work on the outside to make it look a litte different, or "Saab-like." But overall, it's the same car.

But I could be wrong...

Body panels, some interior parts. Quicker steering rack at least on the turbo one, not sure about the N/A one. Otherwise it's the same.

It's all Subaru underneath. Just some cosmetic stuff to try and hide the Subaru inside. :3gears:

SAAB engineers did some tweaks to the suspension (different sway bars, different damper tuning, etc), which I believe that Subaru adopted on the Imprezas a year or two later, but as others said, all the parts are Subarooo. I drove a 9-2x Aero at the dealer when they first came out. It was the nicest stock WRX wagon I ever drove. I think all the 9-2x's had the faster steering rack, which was a nice improvement, too.

i know when i wanted to remove the roof racks on my 04 wrx wagon i ordered the saabaru rain gutters and trim and it fit perfectly. Alot of saabaru guys buy the wrx racks to add them to their wagons. Top Gear did a nice tribute piece on the saab when they stopped production this year.
