I spent the last 2 weeks out in San Diego for work and had some free time two Saturdays ago and went to the home of the Chargers to watch the SCCA run. Her are some of the cars, I tried to take a video but my 3GS does not zoom so it came out poorly. I figure the course was around 3/4mi. Fastest I saw was a shifter kart in the high 0:58s. The silver miata below was very close in the low 60s. I was shocked at the miata.
Black plate (presumably real).
Pretty sweet dedicated Elan.
Scion FR-S, first I had seen one in person. There were 2 total and both pretty impressive.

Shot of the grid, they were getting tons of runs. 3 cars going at once.
GT2, spun 1st corner, I chuckled even though I was green with envy.
GT-R, I did not get to see this one run. I do not know how great it would be really. I still drooled.

The previously mentioned Miata. Guy could drive for sure!
Another, but much slower.
General shot of the grid area.

1 of 3 special purpose cars. One had a motorcycle engine and was somewhat quick. They all seemed like a handful to drive.
1 of 2 Boss 302s. They both smoked the GT500 that was there. Def car not driver.
Maybe the coolest car there was this '66 VW Notchback. It was some fast for an ancient air-cooled VW. IIRC Mid 60s.

There are an amazing amount of awesome cars out there. I found a fantastic road there as well, I loved it the rental 2012 Corolla not so much.

I cannot find a decent shot of it.
A sign at the beginning said no car/trailer or RVs over 40' allowed for the next 73 miles.
Sadly, a motorcyclist got a bit ahead of himself gunning it out of a 15mph (marked) hairpin and went off a RY steep and rocky hill. I cannot imagine he fared too well.

Oh, I forgot almost the best part. they do it every weekend unless there is an event. Plus, the parking lot is pretty hilly, not huge elevation changes but enough to make it interesting. The finish was and off camber turn, lots of excitement there.
