2015 SCCV Board Nominations

Post by BugEyeRex » Wed Oct 22, 2014 7:41 am

Well it’s that time of year again to nominate club members for the up coming SCCV board election. We need you to nominate those who you think would best fill the positions on the board of directors for 2015. Below is a list of the positions that people need to be nominated for, and a brief description of what each position is.

If there is anyone you think could fill any of the positions listed then please send your nomination(s) to Steve Jones by Private Message (Rabbit Farmer) by December 1st. If the people who are nominated accept the nomination by December 8th, a ballot will be sent out via email for SCCV Club members to vote on. Club members will also be able to vote at the December meeting.

PRESIDENT and VICE-PRESIDENT: The president shall preside at all meetings and perform the duties that usually pertain to this office. In the event that the president is not present, the vice-president will perform the duties.

SECRETARY: The secretary shall attend all meetings and record the minutes and the votes in a book kept for the purpose. In the event the secretary is unable to attend, the presiding officer will appoint someone to record the minutes. The secretary shall keep a record of all correspondence of the corporation.

TREASURER: The treasurer shall have custody of all moneys, debts and obligations belonging to the club. He shall make payment of all club debts. The treasurer shall give a report of the financial status of the club at every meeting.

PUBLICITY DIRECTOR: The Publicity Director shall furnish the local media information concerning all scheduled activities of the club, and shall promote a favorable image of the Sports Car Club of Vermont to the general public.

EVENTS COORDINATOR: The Events Coordinator shall arrange and supervise all autocrosses, ice trials, and time trials sponsored by the club. He shall arrange a calendar of events; He shall determine classes for ice trials and autocrosses. He shall maintain and publish a list of approved Technical inspectors. He shall arrange prizes and awards.

PAST PRESIDENTS: The Past President shall give advice and continuity to the board of Directors.

WEB MASTER: The Web Master shall keep the website http://www.SCCV.org up to date with all the latest news, schedules, and special events.

Just an fyi,
With my current schedule, I don't feel I can offer the time I have in the past. So I need to decline any board nominations this year. We could really use some new blood, and will be glad to help whomever ends of taking the publicity director role. It's an important one to get the word out about the club and the events we do.

I am in the same boat. I will continue to help out as much as possible. I just have my work schedule putting demands on me that causes me to not complete my duties for the club.

I would have loved to Help out but moving to SC put a damper on things. I will keep in touch with some of you as I plan to be back in Vermont in a couple years. It was fun glad to have met all of you!
Best of luck with officers

I think there are plenty of people who could help take over.... just need them to step foward
yea so a guy told me, "I bet I get laid twice as much as you," so I said, "Two times zero is still equal to zero," totally awesome.

This is a great opportunity for anyone to help lead the club.

No experience is necessary (except for President) and there is a strong support group.

We all had that year when we were on the board for the first time.... and we all survived. ;)

My schedule takes up a significant amount of time during afternoon and evening hours, so I cannot take a major position such as president. I am happy to continue on as Event Coordinator if elected.
As for the post above and with any new blood thinking of joining: in the past, these chores have not solely fallen on the person with that position. For instance, as event coordinator, I am supposed to be responsible for getting trophies together. I have never done this...I didn't even know it was my job. We are a club and will help each other out as needed.

Reminder.
Here is what we have so far (notes from last meeting):
viewtopic.php?f=20&t=4072&start=10#p38834

Don't be shy. You are all qualified. We offer on the job training, a terrible non-existant benefits package, no relocation, no expense account, but you do get free membership.

Have any questions, post them here, PM me, or email to SCCVermont@aol.com

Thanks
Steve
