Eric, keep MARY's car simple and fun to drive on the street. If you make it too race/performance oriented, then it will be less fun to drive on the street.
Hey, I still have your screwdriver. I couldn't find it during the SCCV BBQ, but it is around.

Re: Can a Mariner Blue Miata be "tough" ??
Just to keep everyone up to date... I was driving the Miata about a month ago, and I was involved in an accident. Not my fault, the Miata was attacked by a bouncing plastic 55 gallon drum. The drum had fallen out of a trailer heading in the opposite direction. Unfortunately, it happened on Route 7 beside Lake Arrowhead, where the road is really narrow, and there are guardrails on both sides. The choice was simply, hit the bouncing barrel or the guardrail.
So the left front fender was bent up and the front bumper cover was scratched up pretty badly. I had Blondin Brothers do the insurance work which included painting the drivers door, left fender, hood, front bumper cover and right fender.
I decided to have the rest of the car painted and have all the small dings and dents taken out. I also had the luggage rack removed, filled and the trunk painted. I should be picking it up today.
I saw the car when it was in the wet sanding, prepolishing stage, and it looked incredible. Probably better than when it was new. I will post pictures up here soon..

If we see pictures of you miata before we see pictures of your kid, you will not hear the end of it.

Lily sleeping in storage.
Out in the sun. Check out my new paint..
I lost my ugly luggage rack..
Hope you like the pics. I think the new paint and wheels have brought "Lily" to a new level.

So I may be able to get the MINI out of the barn soon, huh? It's been a bit of a mystery as to when I was supposed to pick it up.

yup. I think mine's just in front of the boat with the blue tarp in the background of your picture. But I'm probably wrong.Mr. Bridgestone wrote:Did you store yours up there as well?brownMINI wrote:So I may be able to get the MINI out of the barn soon, huh? I would have checked on it if I knew it was there. Three Miata's came out Saturday. Linda told me that I could leave it there as long as I needed too. It was just too nice out and I figured it was worth the risk. Of course, it snowed this morning! She said most people get them around the middle to end of April. Although she did say if I called her 3 or 4 days before I wanted, she would get it out and have it ready. Of course yours is going to take a little more work than mine... The benefit of being last in I guess..brownMINI wrote:yup. I think mine's just in front of the boat with the blue tarp in the background of your picture. Also, I was very impressed with the lack of dust and stuff on the car. The way you see it in the picture is exactly how it was stored, and there was no dust or anything on the car. I just reconnected the battery and she fired up the first try. I let her idle for about ten minutes and off we went. I highly recommend Linda, she is really nice and very accomadating.
