LOW: Well, the 4th Monday has come and gone without any grading being done ("They're gonna start moving dirt Monday." "Yeah, which Monday?") Jeez, just park the damn dozer there and leave the keys (or whatever) in it, and I'll do it myself  Donated labor: the price is right, but the timetable isn't yours...

HIGH: Congratulations to the Massena Champs at the world finals in Akron, Ohio, on this past Saturday: Abby Elman, 4th place in the Stock division, and David Elman, 8th place in the Masters division. First time Massena has 'placed' 2 kids at Akron - excellent !! Kudos also to Casey Hooper, Massena's Super Stock champ, who unfortunately lost in a photo finish in the first round. With racers from as far away as Germany and Japan, all of whom had to win to get to this race, this was an outstanding result for this little town.

:bigups:

September 1st, 2010, as of 10:30 am, is now officially a very good day \:D/

Just getting started - good to see double the equipment I expected
Image

Good thing: the 'dozer wouldn't restart - so the loader just kinda works around it
Image

'Dozer back up-and-running - now becoming a 'one scrapes, one loads' operationImage

Beginning to haul out the topsoil - this is @ Noon

will try to post more updates later today

2:00 pm: OK, more equipment is good! (not shown: another contractor's loader; plus 2 more dumptrucks, courtesy Village of Massena, at the top of the track)

End of Day 1, uphill from ~2/3 track

End of Day 1, downhill from ~2/3 track

Shot a short vid to get a better idea of the equipment being used:

A couple of shots for End of Day 2 - most of the grading has been done on the lower section, with rolling started (although with an error on the profile - old drawing, will be lower). Fill will continue on the top portion after the w/end. The Village Engineer who's working w/ us on this project estimates we've moved over 250,000 yards so far in about a day-and-a-half(yeah, 250thousand)
