That was my daily driver from 97-2000. Currently owned by John Hart, who has been hillclimbing it. Thought he'd want to see pictures of what it use to look like.
It was a 98 Gti, 2 door, 2.0 engine.
At the time of the photo it had neuspeed springs, borla exhaust, and 4th generation style headlights and Konig Orion rims. Traded it in at Kinney motors for my white A4. It went through various hands until it ended up with John.

Though the other nagging thing is I took out the door switches, as that is where the main hoop goes. So now it thinks the door is ajar
Well the switch needs to be in a open or short state to determine an open or closed door. You could either tie the wires together or leave them "open" to remove the idiot light...but I'm sure you already knew that.

Looks like a lot of good progress. Hope to see it this weekend at Philo.

Unloaded a trunk full of removed parts and trim at lunch. Some will go back on the car, but their wasn't time for it now. There is a lot of weight in those parts.
Managed to put the wipers back on too.
Still need to safety wire the harness clips, put in the fire bottle, roll bar padding and tie some wires back.

Peter, yup i know how to defeat the switches, just lacking the time. Even though it shouldn't take very long, it was a low priority. Bending in to those spots is a pain in the butt with the cage and seats installed.

I'm fine. Ego is bruised. A touch sore tonight. Not sure what the status of the car is, as we unloaded in the dark last night, and I left for philo before the sun rose today.
Thanks to Steve for the trailer ride home, and putting his dinner plans on hold. Bill and Charlotte were at the checkpoint near the wreck, it was nice to see Bill's face on the scene, even though it was upside down. Thanks to the others who came down on scene, my apologies if I don't remember you being down there....it was a little hectic.

Oh, Bill got some pictures I think, and Steve got some. I'm sure they'll post them up within the week.
