I'm glad I was able to make it to this event, It was well worth the 4 hour drive. Although this was my first track event, I think I did pretty well...I definitely drove my car hard, but it performed great without too much drama. Next time I think I'll drink less beer the night before...I wasn't feeling too hot when I woke up in the AM .
Thanks for a great weekend guys/gals, I'm looking forward to next year.

Yes, I had the R888 on for this event. My best lap with the R888 was 3 seconds faster than my best lap with the Kumho SPT tires. The R888 felt great!!

From the Mod thread.........see, I had faith in you way back then. :patting myself on the back:I disagree. I believe he was in the mid 60's. 3 seconds puts him in the mid 57's which is very doable for that car with R compounds. I'd admit that 56's would be a stretch, but I think for the average club member, r compounds do make a huge difference.
We have several cars in the club running the street compound tires in the neighborhood of 58 seconds. Given that he was at 60.5 on his first day at the track with kumho spt tires, I think we'll see some surprising times from hondasi(no pressure).
Though I can no longer help you because you are faster than me.

Those are nice tires. I wonder how much time I could shave off of my 59.8X fastest time with street tires? Brian you want to share your tires next time? Just kidding...

Your Acura RSX is very close to my Si. You could probibly pick up the same amount of time as I did. My best time with the Kumho SPT was a 59.8, but I hit 2 cones on that lap. My best official time with the SPT was a 60.2.

Tires will definitely find you some time. After several years of going to SLMP with Falken Azenis, then the Kumho RS2, I was only running 59.8x laps. The first SLMP with the Toyo RA-1 and I dropped to 57.5X laps in 2007. My RA-1s sat in the garage all of 2008 and all of 2009 until this SLMP, and was only able to squeak out mid 58's all weekend. (still not bad for 100hp on 3 yr old rubber)

Some different views of SLMP 3:
Tires are a wear item
Mowing is one thing, cleaning it up another (or: "Anybody got a 12 volt shop-vac?")
...My son commented to me a little while afterwards "Every time I look at it I see grass in another spot it shouldn't be." - not shown: wheels, wheel-wells, radiator, trunk (yes, there was even grass in the trunk )...
