Actually, at all the SCCA autocrosses that I've run, most of the CSP cars are using R-comps too.DaveEstey wrote:Next time I'm classing in CSP instead of EP using SCCA ITA provisions, I would have taken second in class and everybody else was running r-comps while I'm running old compound Azenis.

Re: How to lose 700lbs
yeah, but I still would have taken 2nd lol.
Miata on r-comps ran a 57.099 to win. I pulled a 62 +1 on street tires widely regarded as adding 2 seconds to any run compared to modern streets and it was my first time autox'ing the car.
I think with a little more time in the car I can give the r-comps a run for their money. Or, I can pick up some r-comps and make a mess lol. This car is a ball.

Re: How to lose 700lbs
Needs new valve seals BADLY. I'm ordering them this week and then pulling the head for the job.
The car did make an appearance at Twin State Speedway for the spectator drags around the 1/3 mile oval and it HUMILIATED every car that lined up next to it, including a very smug young man in a new Civic Si.
He wasn't very smug after losing by 7 car lengths.
After the head is rebuilt I should be able to make it back to the track for some real racing.

So what is the power to weight ratio for the CRX?

Re: How to lose 700lbs
I have no idea what it's making for power lol. It had 108hp when new. 189k miles later.... It does have full bolt ons but I wouldn't put it over 113hp.
Yes driver skill does come into it. I'm not afraid on that track at all since I race an enduro car on it every other week. I also made it a point to make the Si driver uncomfortable since he was mean mugging me

Did the math
2009 Civic Si 2,886lbs 200hp 14.43lbs/hp
1991 CRX Si 2,000lbs 115hp 17.39lbs/hp
