Great, thanks Seth. I've been meaning to join SCCV anyway. So if this event goes well will there be other SCCV winterX's here (or anywhere else) this season?

Quite possibly. We must leave a good impression with the land owner. Mother nature plays a part in it too, and she's been pretty fickle.

Plus we need enough entries to cover our costs, so spread the word, even if you can't make it yourself! Paul Dudley is Chair, and most likely course designer, which means a good time will be had by all! :drive1:

Field condition update!!!
A crew of, well I'd love to say specialists (but really we just drove around in a field) just got done at Kenyon's beating in the course. The field is not perfectly flat and has very little snow on it aside from a few drifted sections, which will be fixed with a plow soon. The course has a bunch of variations to accommodate any changes which may have to be made mid-day. The course will be different Sunday vs Saturday. There are (at least) TWO very good spectating areas. Because of the love (read: driving) we gave the field tonight, tomorrow's rain should help our cause and leave it iced over...just the way I like it!!!
At this point a two-wheel drive car will be tons of fun as well as AWD and if we stay up on the plowing, they should be good for gameday as well.
We need the usual worker positions filled: tech, registration, worker coordinator(s), scorers (they sit in a warm vehicle with a good view and write down NUMBERS!!!). One very important position will be that of the greeter; we want our guests to feel welcome and know exactly where to park and proceed as soon as they enter the premisis.
Some important things to remember about this event (when mentioning it to others) are these: NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!!!, YOUR CAR CAN ENTER!!!. As with all SCCV autocrosses: friendly, willing instructors are always available to help anyone who speaks english(ish). This isn't just a race; basic winter car-control skills are learned here.
An update will follow Wednesday after the field has been plowed.

Paul, I plan on being there both days and willing to help. The job I can do on Saturday may have to be a "later" job, but Sunday I am available for anything. Would the field be to rough for the Mutt?

This is relevant to my interests. Now to decide if I trust my car that much...

Chris, the Mutt would be ideal for this field. I intend to enter my blue Miata.

Listen to WDEV 96.1 between 12:30-12:45. Troy Kingsbury from the Village Grocery is going to plug the event!
