Autocross with Vermont learners permit

Any issues with a 15 year old (with kart racing experience) auto-crossing in Vermont with her learners permit?

Looks like it's permitted by the SCCA rule book as long as I ride along.

"4. DRIVERS

4.1 DRIVER’S CREDENTIALS A. Drivers must possess a currently valid automobile driver’s license. Any underage driver who has the legal authority (license or permit) to operate an automobile with restrictions on a public road may compete in a Stock, Street Touring, or Street Prepared class at Regional events, as long as the restrictions of the driving license or permit are met. If those restrictions require a passenger, and the Region allows passengers, that passenger must be either the driver’s parent or legal guardian or an approved instructor. That instructor must be approved by both the event chairman and the event Solo Safety Steward on a case-by-case basis. He/she must have the written permission of the driver’s parent/legal guardian (signed at the event) to ride as a passenger, and the restrictions imposed by the underage driver’s state must allow the instructor to ride as a passenger. Drivers must be SCCA members"

"4.2 EVENT ENTRY Entry into all SCCA Solo events is limited to those individuals meeting the mandatory sections of the SR. Additional entry requirements follow.

A. Regional Events Requirements are determined by the Region organizing committee."

We are not part of the scca, so unfortunately that rule does not apply. We require a valid driver's license, sorry. One more year, and you can run with us with a signed minor waiver.
You might try the ner region of the scca as they do autocross in ma and nh, if you can't wait until then

SCCA is self insured and can do that. We are insured through K&K Insurance and they require a person be 16 years of age.

Our insurance company says

"All drivers must have a valid driver’s license. Any license or permit which requires another licensed
driver in the AUTOMOBILE is not acceptable. Minor drivers must be able to show that they
have permission to operate the AUTOMOBILE in the event."

Kind of a bummer since it would be great to see some folks get into the sport at a younger age.

Thanks - learners permit won't work in NH - will check on Mass laws.

I would check with SCCA NER. They run some autox around Mass and 1 or 2 in NH. They are ner.org.

I can't wait until my daughter gets her driver's license.
