SLMP #2 Sept. 11-13
I am happy to announce our second track event of the racing
Just a few updates!
Joe wants $200 dollars for Friday night track rental, for the people that want open lapping. The people who want to pay the extra for Friday will have to come up with the extra $. The club doesn't carry insurance for Friday so open lapping is at you own risk.
We have SLMP on Sept 11th-13th
Registration will be at the track Saturday morning, please bring cash or check made out to sccv, with you on Saturday morning.
We will need to call Joe as we get closer to the event to remind him.....
Co-chair: Ricky Gratton
Co-chair:
For those not familiar with SLMP, it is a ¾ mile road course built for shifter-cart racing. We have used it for many years as a time-trial track. You will get a ton of seat-time, and a guaranteed smile on your face…
There is free on-site camping and affordable lodging available fairly close. Most people arrive on Friday night to settle in for the weekend.
Entry fees:
2 Day member: $125
2 Day non-member: $135
1 Day member: $65
1 Day non-member: $75
For open cars - A roll bar which extends above the driver's head (with helmet on) when seated in the driving position is REQUIRED. No exceptions! If you have any question about your car please contact one of SCCV board members. This is for YOUR safety!
If you are not familiar with the “Tire Rule,” please check out this link:

We will extend member registration rate to CMC, SCCNH and KSSC members.
There will be a maximum of 25 spots available with a minimum of 16 to run the event. There are 22 openings for two-day registration, and 3 openings each day for one-day registrations.
In the event we reach our cap of 22 two-day drivers, an entrant may combine 2 one-day entries to fill each of the remaining spots until we reach our overall cap of 25 entrants. In the event that we reach our cap, we will establish a waiting list.
There's only one way to register for SLMP, cash or check the morning of the event.

Plenty of room on site for camping, most competitors will be camping.
If arriving Friday afternoon we start tech inspection on any cars arriving, and Saturday morning we have conclusion of tech inspection, 8am register those arriving early Saturday and check in those that registered online, drivers meeting around 8:30, course walk 9:00 and first car off at 9:30 or so (fingers crossed); time table may change depending on total entries. Start Time may be earlier if needed.
SLMP pretty much runs like a large auto-x, except you run 3 consecutive laps instead of 1 like a normal auto-x, you get a total of 5 laps, 1 warm-up lap, 3 timed laps and 1 cool-down lap
We'll explain exactly how it works in the morning drivers meeting.
