I just noticed that the note about helmets on the Motorsportreg.com page is out of date (I think):
Helmets are required for this event. (Snell M1995 or SA1995 minimum, No DOT only)

That should now be M2000/SA2000 or better.

Great to know. I would like to get a few different angles over the weekend. So I will play around with the mounts in the driveway and figure out what will work and I will make sure to use a tether outside the car.

Thanks,

Its not looking promising for an appearance by the Valkyrie Motorsports crew this weekend, folks. The car is still down to the shell with the wiring swap and now I find out the rear half-shafts wont work with the new R180 diff. So at this point, im going to let the build happen naturally, and if we make it, we make it!

hope to see you all this weekend!

I went back and read Laura's post about the weekend details and read again that both days will have the same course.... My opinion is that I think everyone would benefit from having two different courses. If we have two different courses, those who participate on Saturday would not have an unfair advantage over those that are showing up on Sunday only for the competition. Also, it would allow "students" to apply what they learned on Saturday to a new course on Sunday - therefore removing muscle memory as well as a chance to see a different combination of turns and maneuverers while still having access to the same instructor.

Just my $0.02.......

Peter, the two courses will be similar, but different. Veterans know that subtle differences in course layout make for big changes in how we drive the course. Saturday will have a stop box, Sunday will not. Saturday will have two identical laps (except start and finish), Sunday will not.
Weather.com and NOAA say no rain for either day; just crap up till then.

Yes I agree that subtle changes can greatly affect how the course is driven. Glad to hear the courses will be different.

Good catch. I updated the text in one area, but not the other two. Should be fixed now.

Does this imply that the school on Saturday will be a full auto-x course instead of a series of discrete lessons? I will happily instruct with either, but IMHO more education happens with the latter.

I'll do Tech Inspection either or both days. If it matters, I'm a novice.

Do I need to bring any tools for Tech Inspection?
