I've been driving out past the airport a few times lately and keep eyeing a large abandoned parking lot. It used to be a truck rental place, but looks pretty empty to me. Anyone ever investigate its potential as an autocross site? Its clear of obstacles, and a little bigger to my eye than VTC was. Parking might be an issue.

According to Google Earth measurements, its about 600 feet across, by about 150 at its widest.

i think champlain auto or some such was in there for a bit.

I had been talking to the public affairs guys about the old lot on camp johnson, but its in rough shape and they didnt seem too interested.

there are some big lots in the old fort where they do motorcycle training, barnes and tracy rd.
